Baptism
Congratulations on the birth of your new baby! We the Catholic Community of St. Katharine Drexel rejoice with you in this great joy and the celebration of new life. We welcome your family to our Church. May the Lord bless you and watch over you.
“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: ‘Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word’.” (CCC 1213)
If you are interested in having your child baptized at St. Katharine Drexel, please call (209) 223-2970.
The parents of the child must be registered in the parish before beginning the baptism process. Pre-registration is required and both parents and godparents must attend preparation classes.
For the baptism of adults or older children of catechetical age, please call the office as well.
