Electronic Giving Program
What is Electronic Giving?
Electronic Giving is a program for the members of St. Katharine Drexel Parish to have their tax-deductible offerings conveniently transferred from their checking or savings accounts or charged to their credit card. Offerings are credited to whichever collection is designated by the parishioner, e.g., Offertory, Building Repair Fund, Religious Education, St. Vincent de Paul, etc. The program is professionally managed by EFT Corporation, an offering management company.
Why should I sign up for Electronic Giving?
More and more, it is becoming common practice for people to have money transferred from their checking or savings accounts, or automatically charged to their credit cards, to pay regular obligations such as insurance premiums, utility bills, mortgages, car payments, and more. It is a convenient and sure method to assure that a payment won’t be missed. Likewise, the St. Katharine Drexel Parish Electronic Giving Program benefits those who want to support their church faithfully and consistently.
I currently give regularly to the Building Fund in addition to the offertory. How do I indicate how much I want to go to each collection?
The program includes options to give to the regular offertory as well as other collections. However, you must complete a separate enrollment form (paper form or online form) for each separate collection, designating the appropriate fund, such as Building Repair, Religious Education, St. Vincent de Paul, etc.
Will I have to pay any fees to use this program?
No, St. Katharine Drexel Parish will cover the small monthly service and transaction fees.
How often will my bank account be debited or my credit card charged?
First, decide how much you wish to donate to your church on a monthly basis. Then you have the option to transfer funds from your bank account, or charged to your credit card, once or twice a month – the 5th or the 20th of the month for once-a-month transactions, or the 5th and the 20th of the month for twice-a-month transactions. When these dates fall on a weekend or holiday, debits to your bank account will occur the next business day. You may also sign up to make a one-time donation.
What credit cards are accepted?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover Card.
Can I change the amount of my electronic giving?
If you wish to increase, decrease, or suspend your electronic gift at any time, call the St. Katharine Drexel Parish Center at 209-223-2970.
What other benefits are there to electronic giving?
-
Your offering will be transferred safely and conveniently, and without the hassle of writing checks or remembering envelopes.
-
If you are out of town or cannot otherwise attend Mass, you can rest assured that your gift will be received.
-
The paperwork and administrative expenses will be reduced, resulting in more efficient use of your dollars.
-
A record of each electronic gift will appear on your monthly bank or credit card statement, and at the end of each year you will receive a statement for IRS purposes.
Will I still receive church envelopes for donations?
You have the option to continue or discontinue receiving envelopes. You may wish to continue using envelopes for the special collections (Building Repair, Religious Education, St. Vincent de Paul Society) if you decide to use the Electronic Giving Program strictly for your monthly offertory.
I still have more questions. Whom can I call?
Contact the St. Katharine Drexel Parish Center at (209) 223-2970.
